The morning after the Philharmonic’s concert on the Great Lawn, we arrived in Central Park to find the fences around the lawn had come down. People and dogs were darting through the sprinklers out on the grass — something that’s normally off-limits — and it took me a moment to realize why no one was stopping them. When I noticed park workers standing by with their phones out, happily filming the dogs splashing around, I figured it must be sanctioned fun. So we joined right in.
