May 13, 2026 – An Evening Walk in the Park and Capturing Motion on W. 81st St.

Some evenings just get everything right.

We took Toffee out for the after-9pm off-leash hours, and the park delivered. The sky did that thing it does in New York — deepening slowly from dusk into dark while the buildings around the park began to glow, each lit window adding to the shimmer until the whole city felt like it was turning on. There’s nothing quite like watching Manhattan light up from inside Central Park.

On the walk home down West 81st, I kept the camera out to practice capturing motion — a yellow cab cutting through the frame, and a doorman standing sentinel in front of his building, perfectly still against all that blur and bustle. The food delivery bikes whirring by.

New York, you really do put on a show. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world!
